Fun with the Dommer Clan

We were so lucky to have Bri and her three kids here. It was so much fun spending time with the kids and staying up way too late talking with Bri. We kept ourselves quite busy so there are several pictures. Bri and I were quite proud that we took 100 pictures in 4 days. So sit back, relax, and ENJOY!!
The first day we packed lunches and went to the near by park. Alyssa is getting SO big and was able to climb up this little rock wall all by herself.
Here are the kids playing on the teeter-totter. Look how tiny Bri is after having a baby 8 weeks ago!!
Introducing the cutest, happiest, easy-going baby in the world. This is actually the first picture capturing his smile. Pretty dang cute if you ask me.
That night we made cupcakes with green frosting, upon Alyssa's request. We also had sprinkles and decorative hearts.

Alyssa went on a ride with Cory and his new scooter. She loved honking the horn as she rode by. Wyatt wasn't too sure about the scooter and thought it was too loud.
Another cute picture of Kaleb

The next day we attempted to go to the zoo, but by the time we were ready the kids were NOT having it. So we decided to stay home and make purple play dough. Alyssa and I made the letter 'A'. She is one of the smartest little girls I have ever met. I don't say that just because she is my niece; she can do things that some of my kindergartner's weren't able to do when they started school.

Looks like we ran them to the ground! This night they went right into bed and were asleep within 10 minutes.

On Wednesday we went to the Rio Grande Zoo. Bri and I were very impressed with this zoo. It was huge, clean, and the animals were very active. Not to mention it was very cheap to get into, which is always a plus.

Here is a cute picture of the four of us! We had just finished lunch and were headed to see the seals. Which were a HUGE hit.

Bri and Kaleb after having some lunch. Kaleb is quite the chunker, he doesn't look like he is only 2 months.

Looking at the elephants!! Wyatt's favorite.

After the zoo we came home and took naps. Then we went shopping at Hobby Lobby and out to dinner at McCallister's; it is our new favorite place. It's a little bit like Jason's Deli but better and cheaper. Alyssa and Wyatt did so well on their dinner that we got "i kween cones" on the way home. It is so funny because Wyatt is seriously obsessed with "i kween cones", everything you say to him he has a reply of "i kween cones".

Looks like he enjoyed his "i kween cone"!!

Here is another cute picture of Kaleb. I was trying to be a photographer; what do you think?

And last but certainly not least. Here is a video of Wyatt saying "i kween cones". This is the first movie I have ever tried so I hope it works!

Thank you SO much for coming. We loved every minute of it. The house is way too quiet with you gone. Trust me we will definitely return the favor in February or March when Jordyn is a bit older. We are already looking forward to seeing them at Christmas!

34 Weeks and Counting

Here we are at 34 weeks... only six left!! Everything is going well; I now go to the doctor every two weeks and will soon be switching to once a week. We can't wait for Jordyn to get here. She moves TONS and she get the hiccups 3-4 times a day. Her new favorite thing is to kick me in the ribs while I am sleeping!

This is How I am Feeling Right Now. . .

You may ask yourself "Why is she feeling so ECSTATIC?" Right now my sister and her three kids are on their way to spend the week with us!!! She is bringing my nephew who is 2 months old and I have never met. So needless to say Cory and I are ECSTATIC!!!

SPINNER!!!

This post is mostly for journaling purposes so Cory and I can read it in 20 years and laugh. I am sure our kids will make fun of us for this one too!
Cory's wedding ring is made out of Tungsten and nothing can scratch it but a diamond. Cory is fascinated with the fact that it can spin for a pretty long time. If you have ever seen him sitting at a table bored I am sure you have witnessed him spinning his ring and watching in amazement.
The other night we were watching Grey's Anatomy and the episode finished at about 11:15. We both looked at each other and said that we weren't tired. So Cory took off his ring and started spinning it on our coffee table. He looked at me and said "I have a GREAT idea!". He went and got a stop watch and said that we should see how long it could spin. I was in charge of starting and stopping the clock and he would spin it. His first time he got 33.0 seconds or something. So he kept doing it over and over again. He said "Gen, what should we name this game?" I replied "SPINNER". Once we decided the name he would yell SPINNER really loud right before he made it spin. I started laughing the first time he did it, to the point of almost peeing my pants (it isn't that hard when you are 33 weeks prego). Cory thought he could make it to a minute so he kept trying and trying. He promised me that once he got a minute we could be done. He finally made a record at 1:04.7. But like always when playing a game with Cory he wanted to break that record too. So he kept spinning away.
I finally took a turn and spinning and found out that I was horrible. My record ended up being 43.07 seconds. By this time it was 12:30 A.M.! Yes we played SPINNER for over an hour. And to make the story even funnier. . . we have played it the past two night as well!

Happy Birthday Cory!

Cory's turned 28 last week and we had a good day. We started out the day fixing the Cory breakfast in bed. I found these amazing morsels and Wal-mart; they are Cinnabon Twists and come with frosting they are to die for.
(Yes, this is the ONLY picture I took on Cory's Birthday)
Then we spent some time finishing our desk that I posted about earlier. After that we decided to go and eat lunch at one of our favorite restaurants....

We had our favorite chips and queso and Quesadilla Explosion Salad. It was yummy! Thanks to my parents who sent Cory gift cards for his birthday.

Later on that night I made Cory sloppy joes and carrot cake (both his requests). We also rented and watched What Happens in Vegas. We love that show it is hilarious! All in all it was a good day.

Extreme-Desk-Makeover

Before we moved to New Mexico we decided to get rid of any unecessary things that we had. We decided to get rid of our desk simply because it was ghetto. When we got moved into the house and got settled we decided that we did indeed need a desk; although we did not want to spend a
lot of money on it. One day we took a load of junk to Savers, as we were leaving there was a little man dropping of this precious gem. . .

So we asked him if we could have it and he obliged. We took it home, washed it, sanded it down and then painted it black. Once it dried we decided to sand it down a bit and make it look antique.

The drawers had this nasty old paper on the bottom. So. . .

I used my new favorite thing Mod Podge, and put new paper on the bottom of the drawers.

Here is our cute little desk!!

We are actually quite proud of ourselves because neither one of us has every really done something like this. It was really fun and we got to spend some quality time together.

I don't know what it is about this New Mexico air but it has definitely brought out the craftiness in me.

Jordyn's Room

Here are a few finishing touches on Jordyn's room.
I am actually quite proud of them because I have
never proclaimed to be a crafty person.
But I thought these turned out pretty dang cute!

You Know You Are Large and In-Charge When. . .

  • People no longer ask you how far along you are, rather they ask "When are you due? As if you are going to pop at any second.
  • A lady at church says, "How much longer do you have?" I reply "Nine weeks" She says "oh I looked back at you during Relief Society and remember the days when I was that uncomfortable, hang in there!"
  • Random men everywhere ask me when I am due. WHAT IS THAT ALL ABOUT?!?
  • I had a pedicure done at the beginning of July, which is still on, due to the fact that it is really squishy and uncomfortable to bend that far over to take it off.
  • I was at Hobby Lobby today and was trying to open the door while taking the shopping cart through at the same time. A lady says "do you need my help?" I said "oh I think I've got it." She replies by saying "Oh, I remember those days. That's not very fun!"

What are you supposed to say to these things?? I know I am big. I know that I am uncomfortable. I know that I have to get out of bed to pee 3-4 times a night. I KNOW all of these things, I don't need the general public reminding me.

Anyway, the pregnancy is going well. We have about eight weeks left. We are so excited to have her here, mostly just so we can hold her in our arms, but also because it means we will have more visitors!!

Our Weekend with Holli

We had our first visitor! Cory's mom came last week and stayed with us for five days. We were able to go see the many sites of Albuquerque and traveled up to Santa Fe (which was one of the dumbest places we have ever been!) We had fun going to new restaurants, shopping for the baby (as if she isn't spoiled enough;), and exploring new places. It was so nice to have a familiar face here. So if anyone else wants to come you are more than welcome!

A church we visited in Santa Fe.

Who would have thought that the world's longest tram is in Albuquerque?!? This tram takes you 2.7 miles up the mountain. When we got to the top all we could see was clouds, but it cleared up right before we went down.

Here we are at the top!!

The sunset was beautiful when we got to the bottom.

Don't be grossed out! These are our new friends. Cockroaches! They come out at night and there are tons of them on the sidewalks and driveways. They are disgusting little creatures. I am fine if they stay outside. Cory keeps teasing me that I am going to go in Jordyn's room and there will be on crawling on her face!! I swear if that happens, so help me!!
