I am Three Months Old!

Today I turned three months old. I am getting so big and learning a lot of new things. Here are some things that I like to do:

  • I love to suck on my hands, blow bubbles, stick out my tongue, and drool.
  • I can play with my animals on my bouncer; my favorite is the green elephant.
  • My mom and dad have noticed that I always reach for things with my left hand.
  • I now like to swing in my swing because it doesn't give me hiccups anymore.
  • I can take naps in my crib and even talk myself to sleep.
  • I spend the night in my pack 'n' play by mommy's bed and ever now and then she sneaks me in her bed to cuddle in the mornings.
  • I love bath time!
  • I like to listen to all of the books that mommy has.
  • I love playing with daddy and being silly.
  • I laughed for the first time the other day and mommy and daddy have been trying to get me to do it ever since; they look pretty silly!
  • I love to tell stories and usually wake up at 6:00 AM and tell a story then go back to sleep.
  • I love to smile and really like it when mommy or daddy clicks their tongue, I think it is funny
  • I don't really like laying down but would rather sit or stand... with some help of course!

Jordyn,

Mommy cannot believe that you are already three months old. You are getting SO big! I love seeing your cute personality come out. It melts my heart to see your big smile complete with your cute dimple. You make me so happy and I am so glad that Heavenly Father gave you to me. Keep growing strong and a having fun! I love you.

Winter Walks

I have come to love the weather in New Mexico! Since we have returned from the holidays it has been 60-70 degrees; so Jordyn and I have been taking walks around the park that is down the street. Jordyn loves the ride in her stroller and it give me some good exercises!

Here she is all bundled up and ready to go!

For Grandpa Judd

While we were in Vernal we took Jordyn to see her Papa at his office. Papa decided that he would teach Jordyn how to use the 10-key and do taxes. Cory and I are so excited to have our very own little accountant in the home! Thanks Papa.

Dressed in our Sunday Best

Today our stake had a special Stake Conference where Elder Russell M. Nelson spoke. It was the first time in 29 years that an apostle has come to the Albuquerque area. He spoke a lot about parenting, which was really neat for us as new parents. There was one thing that he said that really stuck out to me and that I want to strive to do as I raise my children. He said that we should "correct our children privately and praise them publicly". In the three short months of being a mother I have found that I have a lot to learn but I want to strive every day to be the best mom I can! When the conference was over Elder Nelson stood at the front of the chapel and we were able to shake his hand. He asked us Jordyn's name and then said "Hello there baby Jordyn!" It was a neat experience for our family to have.

Of course I had to add some pictures of Jordyn in her cute Sunday clothes!

The Pit

Yesterday we went to a University of New Mexico basketball game at the Pit. Cory was pretty excited to go to their arena because it is very well known in college basketball and they were playing BYU. The arena is called the Pit because it is dug down into the ground. It was a lot of fun and we were happy when the Lobos beat the Cougars by 19 points (especially because we are Ute fans!) This is Jordyn's second basketball game and she actually does really well. She doesn't seem to mind all of the noise; we know this because she has fallen asleep at both games.

Jordyn got really into the game, she even yelled at the refs!

Can you believe that she is almost three months old?!?!

Olsen Grandkids

My mom got pictures of all of her grandkids. She did such a good job at picking out their outfits and making them look so cute! We now have five grandkids; Alyssa (3 yrs), Wyatt (2 1/2), Kaleb (6 months), Jordyn (3 months), Ava (2 months). It was quite the adventure taking the pictures and getting them to look at the camera, especially when three of the five can't even sit up yet! I love all of the pictures and I am so glad that we got them done.

Dinner with Friends

While we were in Utah we were able to go out to dinner with some of our friends. Mckell and Kimber have been my best friends since I can remember. We went out to dinner at PF Changs (without Jordyn, Thanks grandma!), then we went over to Trevor and Mckell's to watch a football game and play a game of Balderdash. It was so fun to get together, we just wish it could happen more often!
Here we are at dinner.
Note to self... don't eat PF Changs while breastfeeding. Jordyn was up every 45 minutes that night with tummy problems!
Just the girls

Here is Jordyn and Aunt Mckell. Jordyn's middle name is McKell; we chose it partially because it is my mom's maiden name and also because of my best friend Mckell. She is one of the best people I know! I was so excited to get a picture of them together.

Bless this Child

On December 27th, 2008 we were able to bless Jordyn at my parents house in Lindon. Cory gave her a beautiful blessing. We were so blessed to have many friends and family there to support our family. I am so grateful that Cory honors his priesthood and that he was able to give Jordyn a blessing. Jordyn was very good during the blessing and didn't make a peep. It makes me wonder if she knew what was going on. We love our sweet little girl!

The extended Judd Family and the Herrmann family

My sister Bethany had a little girl, Ava, exactly four weeks after I had Jordyn. They were blessed in the same weekend so we were able to get pictures of them both in their blessing dresses. They look so sweet together. I am so excited to have these two little girls grow up so close together!

Christmas at the Olsen's

We were very lucky to be able to go home to Utah and spend a whole month there. We loved spending a lot of time with our families. We went to several movies, hung out, played the Wii, talked, laughed, and had tons of fun. It was a little crazy around the Olsen home with five grandkids! But it definitely gave us a taste of what is to come with future grandkids. We were very blessed this Christmas and we are very grateful for everything that has been given to us.
Here I am opening my sewing machine... new projects to come!
Cory got several gifts cards to iTunes, Journeys, and other restaurants!
This year we decided to do a cousin gift exchange.
Jordyn gave a present to her oldest cousin, Alyssa.
Here is Alyssa trying on her fancy fairy costume that Jordyn gave to her!

Christmas at the Judd's

This year we spent Christmas Eve and part of Christmas day with the Judd family in Vernal, UT. It was so much fun to have the whole family there and to spend time together. We spent five days in Vernal and then on Christmas day we drove to Utah County and went to the Judd family party that evening. We enjoyed seeing everybody and loved having Jordyn meet so many new people. We played games and exchanged presents! It was a Christmas to remember.
