Pretty in Pink

We finally got to bring Jordyn home after about 108 hours
in the hospital! Here she is in her homecoming outfit. It was about 10 sizes too big.

She LOVED her carseat!

Our first family photo

I will post about the delivery later; it is quite a LONG story. Here is a little sneak peek... Cory and I made the stupidest choice and drove to Phoenix on Saturday morning. Needless to say we got in the car to drive home on Sunday and my water broke in the car, with a seven hour drive in front of us! To be continued...

Saturday Morning Project

What do you do on a Saturday morning when you get up at 6:00AM to go to the bathroom and can never fall back asleep? Well you get on the internet, learn how to make a tutu for your little girl, go to Hobby Lobby and get your supplies, and make two darling tutus!
I have a lady in my ward who is taking Jordyn's newborn pictures for free. So we have been gathering ideas of what we want. I knew that I wanted to get some of her in a cute little tutu; so I started looking to buy one on the internet. I was absolutely blown away when I saw that people were charging $30-45. I thought I would have to just settle for not having any pictures with a tutu. Boy was I wrong! I am going to let you all in on a little secret... I made these tutus for $3.00!!!

And right here I need a short minute to vent! The lady who was cutting my stuff at Hobby Lobby was driving me crazy. Here is our conversation...
Her: "What are you going to make with this?"
Me: "Tutus for my little girl"
Her: "Oh how old is she?"
Me: "She will be here in two weeks."
Her: "She doesn't live with you?"
Me: "No I am pregnant (if you can't see my ginormous stomach) and I am due in two weeks."
Her: "You are going to put a tutu on an infant?"
Me: (Getting a little annoyed) "Yep!"
Her: "What is her name?"
Me: "Jordyn"
Her: "Silly me I thought you said you were having a girl!"
Me: "I am."
Her: "Since when is Jordyn a girls name? I mean I guess if you say it is then it is right!"
Me: (REALLY ANNOYED) "Yep!"
Oh my, maybe I am just easily irratated but this bugged me so bad.
I really don't think Jordyn is that uncommon for a little girl. I guess I was wrong!

Let's Put Another Shrimp on the Barbie...

Two weeks ago Cory and I were sitting at the house and decided that we wanted to have a bar-b-que. Problem was that we didn't even have a grill; so we headed out to Walmart and found this gem for $17.00
We got all of the things we needed for a great bar-b-que and FIRED it up. (Neither one of us really knew what we were doing!) Here is Cory firing up the grill.

We had steaks that we seasoned.

Grilled zucchini and squash.

And homemade Cranberry-Limeades.

All in all it was a great bar-b-que! And incredibly worth the $17.00.

List 7 things that are weird or you might not know about me.
- My husband and I are both left handed, third oldest in the family, and have one dimple on the same side.
- I am really bad when it comes to laundry. I am fine with separating it and putting it in the washer and dryer. But when it comes to folding it and putting it away... I am the worse! Since moving I have been a lot better.
-Cory and I kind of have our own language when talking together. It isn't so much a language; just the way we talk.
- As of recent, I have gotten into digital scrapbooking and can tell it is something I could definitely obsess over.
- I miss my students like they are my own kids. I so desperately want to see them and kind of feel hurt that they have moved on to a new teacher. (What if they don't remember me?!?!)
- Before meeting Cory I thought I was a very outgoing person. Now that I have met Cory I consider myself kind of shy.... around people I don't know!
- You may know this, but I think it is weird that in 27 days I am going to be a MOM! This is something I have wanted my whole life and all of the sudden it is here!
Wow! This was harder than I thought it would be. I had to really think about these things.

Fun with the Dommer Clan

We were so lucky to have Bri and her three kids here. It was so much fun spending time with the kids and staying up way too late talking with Bri. We kept ourselves quite busy so there are several pictures. Bri and I were quite proud that we took 100 pictures in 4 days. So sit back, relax, and ENJOY!!
The first day we packed lunches and went to the near by park. Alyssa is getting SO big and was able to climb up this little rock wall all by herself.
Here are the kids playing on the teeter-totter. Look how tiny Bri is after having a baby 8 weeks ago!!
Introducing the cutest, happiest, easy-going baby in the world. This is actually the first picture capturing his smile. Pretty dang cute if you ask me.
That night we made cupcakes with green frosting, upon Alyssa's request. We also had sprinkles and decorative hearts.

Alyssa went on a ride with Cory and his new scooter. She loved honking the horn as she rode by. Wyatt wasn't too sure about the scooter and thought it was too loud.
Another cute picture of Kaleb

The next day we attempted to go to the zoo, but by the time we were ready the kids were NOT having it. So we decided to stay home and make purple play dough. Alyssa and I made the letter 'A'. She is one of the smartest little girls I have ever met. I don't say that just because she is my niece; she can do things that some of my kindergartner's weren't able to do when they started school.

Looks like we ran them to the ground! This night they went right into bed and were asleep within 10 minutes.

On Wednesday we went to the Rio Grande Zoo. Bri and I were very impressed with this zoo. It was huge, clean, and the animals were very active. Not to mention it was very cheap to get into, which is always a plus.

Here is a cute picture of the four of us! We had just finished lunch and were headed to see the seals. Which were a HUGE hit.

Bri and Kaleb after having some lunch. Kaleb is quite the chunker, he doesn't look like he is only 2 months.

Looking at the elephants!! Wyatt's favorite.

After the zoo we came home and took naps. Then we went shopping at Hobby Lobby and out to dinner at McCallister's; it is our new favorite place. It's a little bit like Jason's Deli but better and cheaper. Alyssa and Wyatt did so well on their dinner that we got "i kween cones" on the way home. It is so funny because Wyatt is seriously obsessed with "i kween cones", everything you say to him he has a reply of "i kween cones".

Looks like he enjoyed his "i kween cone"!!

Here is another cute picture of Kaleb. I was trying to be a photographer; what do you think?

And last but certainly not least. Here is a video of Wyatt saying "i kween cones". This is the first movie I have ever tried so I hope it works!

Thank you SO much for coming. We loved every minute of it. The house is way too quiet with you gone. Trust me we will definitely return the favor in February or March when Jordyn is a bit older. We are already looking forward to seeing them at Christmas!

34 Weeks and Counting

Here we are at 34 weeks... only six left!! Everything is going well; I now go to the doctor every two weeks and will soon be switching to once a week. We can't wait for Jordyn to get here. She moves TONS and she get the hiccups 3-4 times a day. Her new favorite thing is to kick me in the ribs while I am sleeping!
