A New Christmas Tradition

Today we woke up to snow! It wasn't enough to stick to the ground but just enough to get you in the Christmas spirit. Growing up my family had tons of traditions that I want to carry on; but I would also like to make some of our own. So tonight, while Cory was at school, Jordyn and I started a new tradition.
Each December I am going to buy a new Christmas Children's Book to add to my collection and our family can spend the whole month reading Christmas stories. I went through one of my bins (I have six) of books from teaching and found that we have a pretty good collection already!
Jordyn and I got ready to make cookies
and enjoy a story by the tree.

I showed Jordyn how to lick the cookie dough off the mixers...
Look at her eyeing them!
We put them in the oven and ten minutes later we had...
COOKIES!!
So what if they are too close together, they still taste good!
Then we snuggled up by the tree,
turned on the Christmas lights,
and enjoyed One Winters Day.

I love Christmastime and I love my new little family

that I can start and carry on traditions with.

What a cute tradition! Did you eat all those cookies yourself? I would have!

Great tradition! I have wanted to do that as well. My friend started something similar. She wrapped up all of her Christmas books (and borrowed some from the library) and then each night the kids get to unwrap the book and read it before they go to bed. I think she numbered the books so that she returned the book to the library before it was late.

You are one cute mom! Starting these fun traditions and even when she is so young. I bet Jorydn enjoyed her first Christmas story.
